135 Prints by Utagawa Kunisada
Kabuki, Kimonos and Japanese Life

Kunisada was a Japanese artist who was probably the most prolific of all printmakers of the ukiyo-e (“pictures of the floating world”). Kunisada produced between 20,000 and 25,000 designs for woodblock prints during his lifetime - 35,000 to 40,000 individual sheets.

Kunisada's main occupation was kabuki and actors prints.
The prints are quite useful to crafters and designers because there's a multitude of themes and subjects portrayed.
He was also very active in the area of bijin-ga (beautiful women). He collaborated with other famous artists of the period on a series of works, e.g., with Hiroshige for the series, "The Fifty-three Stations by Two Brushes"
I enjoy working with the costumes and bright colors, the lovely ladies, and the Japanese landscapes depicted in that series. This set also includes many images of daily Japanese life.

The images in this collection are enhanced, most are converted into
300-600 dpi and 300+ ppi, hi res and sized from approx. 4000 to approx. 7700 pixels.
A few images might be duplicated in varying resolutions for print/monitor.

This art would look stunning on paper hand and wall fans, calendars, garden and sofa cushions,
and the vertical paintings are awesome when framed, or decoupaged on panels of vintage folding screens and to cover old wooden chests and boxes.
